Privacy Policy — Alta: Morning Yoga & Stretch
Last updated: 25 August 2026
Alta is built so that as little of your information as possible ever leaves your phone. This page says exactly what does, what stays, and why. It describes the app as it is today, not what it intends.
What stays on your phone
Alta keeps all of this in its own storage on your device, and nowhere else:
- Your morning check-ins — how you are arriving, how much energy you have, how long you have, and any part of your body you would like to look after
- Which sessions you have listened to, how far you got, and how you said you felt before and after
- The days you chose to rest, and the end date of any longer rest you asked the app for
- Your reminder time and the kinds of sessions you said you like
Alta has no account, no sign-in, and no server of its own holding any of it. None of it is ever sent anywhere. We cannot see it, we cannot recover it for you, and we could not hand it to anyone who asked.
One thing worth knowing about backups. This information lives in Alta's own folder on your phone, and if you have iCloud Backup switched on, your phone's backup includes that folder — the same way it includes the data of every other app you use. That backup belongs to you and to Apple, it is encrypted, and you control it in your iPhone's Settings. We have no access to it. Sessions you have downloaded are kept separately, in the part of your phone's storage set aside for files that can be fetched again, and that part is deliberately left out of your backup.
What leaves your phone
Two things, and only these.
Your purchase, if you make one. Alta Plus is bought through your Apple ID, and Apple handles the payment. To know whether your subscription is active, Alta uses a service called RevenueCat, which receives the receipt Apple issues along with an anonymous identifier that RevenueCat generates on your device. That identifier is not connected to your name, your email address, or your Apple ID — none of which Alta ever asks for or receives. As with any web service, RevenueCat's servers also see the IP address the request comes from and basic technical details such as your device model, operating system version, and app version.
RevenueCat's software also records one flag about your device: whether you have been asked for tracking permission. Because Alta never asks, that flag reads "not determined" and stays that way. It is a note that the question was never put to you, not an answer to it.
Alta does not send RevenueCat your check-ins, your sessions, or anything you have told the app. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.
The audio itself. Six sessions are built into the app and need no connection at all. The rest are downloaded from our content host the first time you play them, then kept on your phone so they never download twice. That download is an ordinary web request: it says which file is wanted, and like every web request it carries your IP address. It carries nothing about you, and nothing about your check-ins — the request looks the same whichever session it is for.
What Alta does not do
- Alta collects no analytics, no usage statistics, and no crash reports. There is no analytics service in the app.
- Alta does not track you, here or across other apps and websites. It does not use the advertising identifier, and it will never show you the tracking permission prompt, because it has nothing to ask for.
- Alta shows no advertising.
- Alta does not sell, share, rent, or trade information about you. There is nothing to sell.
- Alta does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or health data, and does not read from Apple Health.
- Alta does not use your check-ins to train anything.
Notifications
If you would like a reminder, you pick a time and Alta schedules it on your phone. Your phone does the reminding; there is no server involved and nothing about your reminders leaves the device.
Alta asks for notification permission only after you have finished a check-in — so the request arrives attached to something you chose, rather than as a toll on the way in. Saying no costs you nothing else in the app. You can change your mind at any time, in Alta or in your phone's Settings.
Subscriptions
Alta Plus is an auto-renewing subscription billed through your Apple ID. You can view, change, or cancel it at any time in your Apple ID settings under Subscriptions. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for. If you started with a free week, nothing is charged until that week ends, and cancelling before then costs nothing.
Alta itself never sees your card, your billing address, or your Apple ID.
Deleting your information
Delete the app, and everything described under "What stays on your phone" is deleted with it. There is no request to send us and no form to fill in, because we are not holding a copy.
Your purchase history is the exception, and it is not ours: Apple keeps it as a record of your subscription, and RevenueCat keeps its own record of whether that subscription is active. RevenueCat's privacy policy, linked above, explains how to ask about it.
Children
Alta is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since Alta collects almost nothing from anyone, there is very little to collect either way — but if you believe a child has subscribed without permission, Apple's family purchase controls and refund process apply.
Changes
If Alta ever starts collecting anything beyond what is described here, this page will be updated in the same release that changes the app — not afterwards — and the date at the top will change with it. We will not quietly widen what we collect.
